Today, we're excited to welcome a new member to our LINKA team! Kyle will be helping Susan with customer support, answering questions on Live Chat, and doing extensive testing on our apps and locks!
Tell us a little about yourself!
Kyle: This is my first full time job, so forgive me if I'm a bit nervous! I grew up in Vancouver, and I learned to bike as a kid riding around the Seawall, the seaside bike path in Vancouver. I remember vividly riding all the way to UBC, which was the first time that I ever rode on the road, and I've been in love with cycling ever since. I'm also a huge fan of the outdoors and I really enjoy playing tennis.
What makes you so excited about working at LINKA?
I like working in a small company startup environment with lots of learning opportunities and lots of areas to take initiative. I also like working with physical products like locks rather than just virtual products like media companies.
What do you think is the most important thing to get more people cycling?
I think many people don't see cycling as a serious way to get around, but as something for hipsters or professional cyclists. In my home province, there is a law requiring everyone to wear helmets, which I believe hurts the cycling brand. Also, I know many people who just don't have bikes, sometimes because it was stolen and they didn't want to buy a new one.
If you could visit in one place in the world, where would it be?
I would like to visit India one day. I think it's a place with very good food, especially since I'm a vegetarian.
Thanks Kyle, and welcome to the team!
